Young Playwrights’ Theater is proud to announce that we will be partnering with Acumen Solutions for their 4th Annual Race for a Cause™ 8K and 1Mile Fun Run race on Sunday, October 14, 2012 in Arlington, VA!

YPT was selected as one of ten charities benefitting from the race. It’s up to each runner (or enthusiastic walker!) to pick which charity your participation will benefit, and we really want you to pick us (oh please, oh please)!

Previous Acumen Solutions races have contributed over $300,000 to benefit local nonprofits … and the more people who register to run for YPT, the more funding we receive.

The 8k run or “run/walk” (about 5 miles) is great for competitive and recreational runners, as well as those who have never run before but are up for a fun challenge! The 1 mile format is a great option to give families and young runners a chance to participate, and for those who’d prefer a fun, relaxed walk. $2,000 dollars in combined prizes will be awarded to top race winners. So grab your group of friends, running club, kickball team, or even a reluctant significant other and run for YPT!

The nonprofit that registers the most racers wins the most funding. Your participation will help YPT win the funds we need to say “yes” to more deserving classrooms this school year and serve more students than ever before with free, innovative playwriting and theater arts programming and performances.
